Royal Brunei Catering In Shanghai World Expo 2010

RBC was invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Trade (MOFAT) of Brunei Darussalam to participate in ‘Shanghai World Expo’ in 2010.

Showcased RBC Quality Products with Halal Certifications such as Murtabak, Roti Kahwin and Teh Tarik with ‘Gula Anau’ among the local delights.



Halal Certification

The Airport Restaurant & Coffee Shop and Airport Express Fast Food were officially certified with Halal Certification on 21st May 2010 thus marked the history of being the first HALAL Restaurant and Fast food outlet in the country.

Seasons Restaurant and Sungai Tilong Express Fast Food were awarded with the HALAL Certification in August 2010 during the holy month of Ramadhan.

30 products from RBC Aircraft Catering Centre such as Beef Patties, Chicken & Beef Franks, Breads, Cookies and Pralines were being certified as Halal Products in July 2009.

In February 2011, Express Fast Food in Kiulap and Tutong were officially certified Halal by the Brunei Religious Council.

Two popular Chinese restaurants namely Emperor’s Court and Dynasty Restaurant were certified Halal on 10th December 2012 and 29th July 2013 respectively.



RBC Official Published Cook Books

Royal Brunei Catering “Collection of Recipes” Volume 1 was launched on 26th August 2007.

Royal Brunei Catering “Collection of Recipes” Volume 2 won the Special Award of The Jury in the 14th Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. The presentation was held in the historical theatre hall “La Comédie Francaise”, Paris on 1st July 2009.

Royal Brunei Catering “Collection of Recipes” Volume 3 was launched on 6th December 2009.

Royal Brunei Catering “Collection of Recipes” Volume 4, called “Healthy Living” was launched on 20th April 2011.

Language and Literature Bureau and the State Mufti’s Office made their invaluable contributions to RBC Collection of Recipes Volume 2 and Volume 3 in terms of expertise in translation work. The State Mufti’s Office (JMK) verified the “HALAL Status” of all ingredients of the cuisine.


Apprenticeship Programme

In 1996, 41 students graduated from the joint apprenticeship programme between Royal Brunei Catering Sendirian Berhad and Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College.

In 1999, the apprenticeship training programme in Professional Cookery and Services was formed by the Brunei Technical and Vocational Education and has produced 69 Apprentice graduates, 9 apprentices is currently employed with RBC.

The Graduate Apprentice 6-Month Programme was recently launched on 1st July 2013 with 7 graduates from various field have been enrolled.




Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)

Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) was first initiated by RBC in 2012. As a sole caterer in Brunei, Aircraft Catering Centre is one of the selected entities by the governmental body (National Standard Centre) to implement the certification program. 
The program has to go through about “Six Stages”, from documentation to external audit. With growing concern on food safety and meeting international standards in food preparation or manufacturing, HACCP helps to identify and minimize all food hazards within a manufacturing vicinity. The certification program was vigorously done starting from September 2014.
Then on 30th September 2015, RBC Aircraft Catering Centre received their HACCP certification from Care Centre International.
